Great pictures. Love 'Born To Reign', totally understand the water drops. Doesn't change my opinion. Great seedlings too, really like the blue purple eyed and edged one!

Born to Reign is quite striking. Your seedlings are very nice. What were parents on your bicolor?

Lip Smack is beautiful. Is the eye as red as in the picture or is it more of a maroon?

I love all your seedlings especially the bicolor! I am partial to bitones and bicolors and yours is really cute. Lip Smack also caught my eye. Such color! I am slowly getting back to the 'new' forum and reading up, hoping that you are still the Nancy I corresponded with last year. I've been wanting to tell you that all the iris bloomed this past spring and they were lovely.

Nancy, I really like the first 2 seedlings a lot! I hope they do well. I too like Lip Smack.

Jean, I just got Startle last fall. I always wanted it, despite hearing so much bad stuff about it always being splotchy. I'm very happy with it so far.
Ed, that is my favorite seedling so far, & I have a lot of favorites :) Very different from anything else I have. This isn't the first year it bloomed, it looks very different from last year. I hope it holds this look.
Debra, the pod parent was Karen Sue. No tellin' what the pollen parent was. I don't use Karen Sue much any more, but I do like the bicolors.
Lipsmack looks exactly like the photo, hoosiernan, quite red, very bright & happy
Thank you Maryl, last year I was disappointed not to have any seedlings that really were appealing. Of course, some of these are from last year's first bloom, & have really improved. Just seems like a good year though for me. I'm a terribly proud parent though, & tend to like them all :)
Yes Celeste! I had to change my name, Houzz let me use my old name for a bit, then something went wrong & the only way I could get back on was to change my user name. I'm so bad, don't remember what iris I sent, but I'm happy they bloomed for you. I've been doing a lot of thinning of iris, if you need any more, let me know! The daylilies from you have all done great. Sulled Up ol Possum lives up to its name, doesn't it:) Just won't quite open all the way, looks like it would be quite pretty if it would though.

Lovely Nancy. I like your seedlings especially the first one for the color.

How has Born to Reign performed for you? Some say it is slow. What is the size of the bicolor seedling? Lip Smack looks brighter than its parent, Fooled Me. It is a bit short, but if bud count is good, I'm sure it's a winner.

    Thanks Julia!
Born to Reign just arrived last fall, so really can't tell much about the performance. It looks very healthy & every bloom so far has been really good. The bicolor is about 5" or a little bigger, not huge. Lip Smack is a bit short, but so bright I hardly noticed that. It has bloomed really well this year, there has been a bouquet each morning.

Me and brights, I love Lip Smack even like the silly name. I especially like that second seedling.

Great pictures, Nancy! Thanks for sharing. Born to Reign, Lip Smack are my favorites of the named cultivars... and your seedlings look very nice. I hope my BTR looks as nice as yours when it blooms! My fans didn't bulk up much, and with 6 fans, I only have two scapes.
