Awesome, Jon, that's good to hear! I've tried several and none have lasted very long (except for the "rose" at the end, which I save and use without the wand until IT croaks too, hah). Pricing is close to $100 for the Lee Valley one. I'm hoping hubby will help me make the pvc one. I ain't proud! ;-) I have several 'sprinkler heads' that I screw into the hose end because the wand bit the dust. Thanks for the detailed instructions Jon.

Just got the Gilmour nozzles today, I bought two. I like the threads on the outside so I can attach the sprinkler head that I like. Now, how to convince hubby to get the wand assembled? I know, promise him bacon and mashed potatoes. He'll do projects for bacon OR mashed pots. ;-))

I prefer the pistol grip rotating nozzle style with 5 settings from ACE Hardware for $3.50. The "rain" setting is perfect for watering containers, pots, etc. However, I can see using water wands to reach hard to get pots or hanging baskets.

A watering wand is also useful for watering under the foliage without bending, to keep hard water spots from forming on leaves and to prevent mildew issues.
