I hope someone answers this. I just planted a quince this year - hoping to have edible berries...

Ornamental quince is Chaenomeles. Yes you can cook with it. The fruit are hard and much smaller than true quince (Cydonia) but you can make jelly from them or add slices to apples in apple pie. They look like small yellow apples, rather than berries. Before you do anything though it might be a good idea to get a definite id on the Name That Plant Forum or here.

Anyone know why my flowering quince is suddenly dropping rolled up dry leaves?
