This year's winter would account for all growth from the crown. I am in the same boat down -bloom wise- here with a couple of macs and one oakleaf. The extra fertilizer in high N MG Versions could also delay or prevent blooming if it was used for long enough that too much nitrogen has accumulated. The only way to know is to test the soil and check the levels of NPK (there are NPK soil tests that you could use to test and I would ck to see if N is high). But July is just starting so you could just wait and see if it still blooms in July but is simply delayed with all the "growingfromthecrownbusiness" that it is doing this year.

Thank you Luis. So what is considered " high Nitrogen"? This one was 24/8/16. Is there any way to "undo" it? Maybe next time i'll use the blooming one that is 15/30/15.

Yes, high phosphorus fertilizer is recommended. I dont think the first number should go much over 10, though.

I use straight 10-10-10 Miracle Gro Shake n Feed and have begun supplementing that with coffee grounds. My "result" so far with ES is that in the event it is killed all the way back, it seems to put up 10-25 new canes and at least 75% get blooms of sizes from 4-16" across. Better than nothing, and I personally tend to favor a few massive blooms over many small ones.

All right. TMid-July is probably the time when the 2nd flush may occur for you (the 1st one normally happens in late Spring during mild winters). :o)
