JedobaTX9b thanks for the info. I think I'm going to call FCN on monday to see what they would suggest. I bought the plumeria from them so I'm wondering what they do if they get viruses. I'd hate to discard the plant but my main concern is that I have hundreds of plumeria's and I don't want the virus to spread to other plants. I'm going to finish reading the info from the link you sent me to see if it says anything about the virus spreading to other plants. I've never had one with a virus before so this will be a learning process.

Is it only on one bloom?

Plumeriai45, I haven't seen any signs on the leaves or stalk that show a virus....so it looks like it's just the flower for now. I really think I'm going to discard the entire plant because I have hundreds of other plumeria's and I have a huge international order of plumeria's coming in this week (a lot of purples) that I don't want to take any chances with. I'd rather buy another $25 grafted plant from FCN then infect my entire stock. It just depressing to discard a plumeria. I might try and give it away for free....As long as the person doesn't have any other plumeria's.

So I spoke with Carol today at Florida Colors and she talked me out of discarding my Polynesian sunset. She said to give it time and it should grow out of the virus.....so I'm going to hold onto it for now. I actually like it better with the virus but my concern was it spreading to my other plants.....guess we will see.

I would keep one with a virus.. Keep your tools clean and you should be fine.. Maybe keep them separated, but I love them so. Ugh. Just my opinion.

I have two Princess Victoria with splashe aka virus. Haven't had any issues.

Thanks Laura, that makes me feel better. I definitely won't be taking any cuttings off this plant for a few years. It one of my personal plants so I'm going to let it get big before I have to cut it. Thanks for the advice.

Sometimes I think high heat can also cause that.
