Hi, first time poster. Need a hand/have a question about my pitcher plant.

I have a Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa that I received from California Carnivores a couple of weeks ago. Over the past couple of days, a strange substance has shown up inside one of the pitchers. It is a white, cotton-like fluff, almost like someone has pulled apart a cotton ball and crammed it down into the pitcher. I have no idea what this is, and I've been googling around but can't find any information either (at least, not anything that sounds like it. I've attempted to get a picture of it, but none of them are coming out clear. The white fluff has filled up an entire pitcher. Does anyone know what this could be and suggestions for what I should do? Thanks!
