Fearless or sick?

I've only been feeding hummingbirds casually for last summer and this summer. Usually they are slender adults, who zip away the instant they realize I'm nearby.

This one, however, was small and plump (not sure if it was fluffed to keep warm, or what?). It also didn't react to me! I even (gently!) poked it with a stick a couple times, and it didn't bother flittering off until I reached my hand up to take it off the feeder - I was seriously considering taking it to the local nature center because I thought it was sick, since it was so lethargic.

Haven't seen it since, but I've also been very busy this week and not home a lot.
