Help with empty wall

We are trying to do furniture placement in our new great room. We have a very large tailored sectional going along the wall under the windows and will be placing two occasional chairs across from it with the fireplace as the focal point (TV going above the fireplace). Trying to figure out what to do with the long stretch of wall going towards the door to the deck. Do we put in some kind of builtin? Just book cases? Unfortunately you cant see the wall in the photo but it is to the left and anything on the wall would somewhat obstruct the path to the door. You are looking at the room from the kitchen (we are making the following changes already: Dark/Jacobean flooring, boxbeams on the pitched ceiling with ship lath in between and a large orb chandelier in the middle)

I would get the furniture in place first. Are you talking about the wall between the windows? I don't see a long stretch of wall in this picture. I would also rethink TV over FP.

Some will recommend placing your TV in weird spaces where you cannot even view it comfortably to keep it from being placed over the fireplace as it will mess up the "design" of the space. My preference is to place it over the FP if there is absolutely no other reasonable space. Is your mantel high? If so, you may not be able to place it there. That being said, can we see the wall opposite the windows?

Also, you may want to wait on any further design or renovation suggestions until your existing furniture is placed in the space.

I will take a photo and upload later today of the wall and the entire space in general. I agree about putting the TV on the other wall opposite the windows but it's going to take some convincing since my husband already wired up the fireplace so everything is hidden and all components are in the basement.

Hm...maybe you can convince him if you add a long media console that is more contemporary and longer than this one. You could even set your space up like this (layout wise) as long as the extension of your sectional is on the opposite end.
