I think they look OK too. If you are a beginner find some complete Phalaenopsis cultivation notes on the net so you know the optimum place to put the pots.

You can buy an inexpensive paring knife, heat the edge and carefully melt slits around the sides of the pot. Phals like to be moist, but not STAY soaking wet! I like clear pots, they let me see just how much moisture is still available to the plant. If you are in your growing season, the roots will quickly fill that pot and the leaves grow too. BTW, it would be very helpful if you had information as to your location in addition to the A S.

Thank you everyone for your advice. Sheila, I'm in NJ; I have these orchids sitting in front of a window in room that's around 70-75 degrees. I cut holes on the bottom sides of the cups and already noticed there is a little less condensation, which is what I was concerned about. I give them water once every 10 days maybe.

Hello fellow Jerseyan. Those semi clear pots are a pretty good idea. I don't know if you know or not but orchid roots can photosynthesize when wet. They also allow you to see how the roots are doing.

My opinion is to repot into a wider pot and let the roots grow out. This plant is too cramped. Buy a normal pot with drainage and the plant will do better.
