Had some landscaping done to the front recently and this floating garden in the foreground is driving me nuts. I let the landscaper talk me into recessing it away from the driveway because of the snow load and I almost wish I had no garden there at all...but I do, and would definitely rather try to repair it instead of digging it all up and re-sodding.

My thought it to anchor it to the walk and drove with cobbles/river rock. The mature landscaping is obvious quite a few years away...arbs and prairiefire crab are still babies!

Is it just me or does this floating look seem odd? Shouldn't it meet the walk and drive somehow? Any ideas beyond my cobble concept?
