Really? No answers?

Here's what I got when I took it apart. It was all the way black when I finally took it off the plant. It just came off because the stem that was holding the spadix to the spath turned brown then black.

Are there seeds in there? What exactly do the seeds look like....looks like mostly just chaff.

I've never worried about getting seeds from my Spaths. But never noticed any of what might have been seedlings around so assumed there weren't seeds.

You have to break up the spade pretty good to get the seeds out. Each little pyramid is one flower...I'm pretty sure. They definitely don't "reseed freely" unless maybe you let the sspadix rot off and fall into the substrate...and then cover it with sphagnum moss...maybe? No?

You probably need some sort of magnification to see exactly what's there and what's going on. Just last season I put some Remusatia inflorescences under a microscope and it was interesting. Turned out there were seeds but I don't know if they were viable. But it takes a lot of the guess work out.

I don't know that I've ever seen spathiphyllums with seeds. But I'd assume they'd be obvious and not fine chaff-like material. Perhaps like aglaonema seeds. Spaths aren't among my favs and I don't have a single one, but hopefully someone that grows or even specializes in them will chime in.
