Hello,

I've been lurking for a while and busily building ideabooks. We are moving into a new home in just over 2 weeks, and will have a dedicated office space for the first time.

Our style is relaxed, beacy and a bit eclectic. I like old things, well-built things. The home is a 5 year old Viceroy Revelstoke model with dark stained cork flooring.

As of now, we have no office storage. I don't want to just take the path of least resistance and get something from Ikea that I'll really dislike in a few years.

I have a former kitchen table that we plan to use as a desk. My father made the top by laminating together the handles of broken hockey sticks (in the 70's, back when they were wood).

I'm looking at used wall units (on Kijiji) for storage. The two that most catch my eye are a mid-century teak unit and a 70's white laquered unit (there is also an ivory one, bad photos). I'm concerned that the teak unit would 'upstage' the table. I'm concerned that the laquered unit is just going to look old.

Help?
