I had planted BOTH in a large island planting. I have no idea what happened to the lamium (which I had seen in a friend's yard in colder zone and liked). All I see is the Pachysandra which is gradually taking over the area I planted the lamium. Don't know whether it was climatic differences or my deer neighbors. My lamium has completely disappeared though. Why don't mix up you ground covers though. No need to go with only one. I also really like my Japanese forest grass that grows in deep shade under the Hemlocks. I had planted Ajuga but that seems to have died out too. On the other hand, I am letting some wild/weed Tradescandia (hardy Wandering Jew) spread a bit. Like its bluish flowers. And if I consider it a weed, would not be able to get rid of it anyway...., it is everywhere.
