Miele Reviews?

Would love to hear reviews on Miele appliances - so far we are definitely going with Miele dishwasher.... anyone with feedback on their convection oven or Refrigerator?? We are having a real difficult time selecting a refrigerator and it's such an important appliances in the kitchen. Its our first home and complete remodel so we are trying to make informed decisions :)

as much as I love the Gaggenau side opening door oven and used to have a much older model in a previous home, I can't recommend that people consider them unless it is a floor model sale. The price is so much higher than any other high end oven. The steam oven currently retails for over $5k and the regular oven is greater than $6k. I am the queen of justifications but at almost 40% higher than its nearest competitor, it is getting almost impossible to justify.

I have a few Miele items including an oven, speed cook, induction cooktop, dishwasher, washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners and a rotary iron. There is a yet to be installed war,I got drawer too. My dishwasher is roughly 11years old and has worked flawlessly since purchase. I do about two loads a day in the unit. The oven bakes evenly and just always works. I use the pyrolysis cleaning twice a month without a problem. It is a much older oven, probably 8years old and has the rotisserie so which I love. The induction is new and I need to use much less power than I ever assumed. Loving playing with it so far.

I can't comment on the quality of the oven, however if I was spending that much, I'd like an oven that has side swing doors. Gaggenau?

I've posted many highly detailed reviews on my Miele oven which I've had since 2008. A "Miele oven" search here or on Google should turn them up. I adore the oven which has a cold-start feature, rotisserie, and ability to be programmed to turn itself off. It has Masterchef which I have never used as I know how to cook and don't need food-based settings.

Last year I replaced my single-compressor refrigerator with a Miele K1911. It has been excellent, trouble free and much quieter than the old one. My two replacement fridge finalists were Miele and SZ. The refrigerator needs the water filter replaced annually which is a $60 or so maintenance cost.

Miele offers extended warrantys directly and stand behind their products. The only thing I would say is to be sure, in advance, that Miele factory service is available where you live. During a service call Miele techs have laptops that hook up to the appliances and diagnose issues. A third party warranty or non-Miele factory service would likely be useless unless the servicer happened to be extraordinary or had gone in for Miele training. My freezer door panel needed adjustment after the fridge was installed and the dealer's "Miele expert" didn't have a clue. The Miele tech who came out on a service call for my washer did the adjustment perfectly in 10 minutes.

Our reno was in 2003-04 and my only original appliance was the Miele dw. I replaced with Miele based on the excellent DW performance and find their products to be extremely reliable and high performing. There are complaints with every brand, of course.

Thanks, I hadn't realized that the Gaggenau was so much more costly than the Miele. I too have a Miele dishwasher. I love it -- but it has had problems. (See my other posting). I would definitely consider their oven if I was to replace my Thermadors!

Got the oven and speed oven and like them both. We use the speed oven a LOT. Great for reheating and smaller meals. Glass rack is all we use in the speed oven ... but always scared of breaking it.

Interior cleaning is only issue... no real good instructions on how to best do it.

I purchased a Miele dishwasher in April 2024 and it has failed five times with the same F11 error code while still under warranty. Miele keeps repairing the same issue instead of replacing the defective unit.

Customer service initially promised escalation after repeated failures, but their Quality Assurance Team closes the case and sends it back for yet another repair.

This has resulted in weeks without a working dishwasher, added household expenses, and major inconvenience for my family. Very disappointing experience from a premium appliance brand.
