What color will the new siding and garage doors be?

I'm undecided. My initial though was white siding with wood garage and front door, but I also thought about painting everything a dark charcoal (trim included) and having wood accents.... Thoughts?

I really do like a little horizontal natural wood siding to add a little contemporary feel.

I like awm's suggestion of a pergola. Unless you get decorative garage doors, I would paint them the same color as the siding/brick so they blend in and the front door becomes the focal point. Agree about beefing up the shutters and nicer lights, especially at the garage.

For siding and trim colors I would look in your area and also at similar style houses on the Internet. Or you can take a cue from the brick colors. Pretty house!

I agree with awm re: the shutters being too skimpy for the windows. It was actually one of my first thoughts. I think you need shutters, though.

If the house is in the shade, as it appears to be, I don't think I'd go with the charcoal idea. I think that would just be gloomy.

Love the idea of wood stained garage doors. How about wood shutters?

I'd also whitewash the brick.

Windows with black muntines, ,painted an ivory around the trim.

Getting rid of the wretched angles is an excellent idea. To me the area right above the garage doors stands out like a sore thumb. It almost looks like it should have been bricked and the PO ran out of bricks. That area would look better if the paint color matched whatever color you have on the new garage doors. Better yet, you could brick it up. I like what Awm suggested. Your shutters look the correct size on the upper windows and skimpy on the lower part. I do not think they should be removed. They keep the upper house connected to the lower level. It would be helpful if you posted another picture including the other side of your house entirely. Landscaping is part of curb appeal and we have little idea of what is there
