last modified: 11 years ago

Right at this moment i have various mild, hot and super hot peppers seeds for trade: I am looking for something interesting and unique. The first list is seeds available now and the second list is seeds available in September, third will be December 2015.

All my seeds are stored in epindorf tubes placed in a semi-closed mason jar surrounded by silica beads to ensure preservation.

Seeds for trade now:

Atomic Starfish (I have hundreds of seeds grown in perfect conditions from a green house, fertilized weekly with 20-20-20. Was on 16 hour light cycle with heat ranges from 28-33 degrees Celsius , i had over 60 pods on a plant standing 6.3 feet as wide and tall as a full sized refrigerator, beautiful!)

Chocolate Bhut Jolokia - (Hydroponically started transferred to outdoor - 30 seeds roughly remain after gifts to friends and starting this season)

Charleston - Hybridized in Charleston, SC USA to grow 15 inches tall while producing upwards to 10 pounds of pods - Produces long hot pods. I had pods nearly 8 inches in length in my hydroponics system. (Hydroponically started transferred to outdoor, roughly 50 seeds remain)

In production now and ready for September to trade:

Aleppo

Yellow Fatali

Peach Bhut Jolokia

Prik Chi Faa

Peter Pepper

Turkish Charleston

What I'm looking for:

Im interested in anything, send me a list ill do the research see which i am more interested in and we can trade. However, I'm not too interested in turkish peppers such as other variations of Charleston. I am interested in rare types such white varieties, hybrids (chocolate bhutlah crossed with scorpion), i am even interested in some ornamental peppers depending how beautiful it can become(taste doesn't matter for ornamentals to me i won't eat them)

Seeds I'm starting September and will be ready in december/january contact me anytime to determine trade volume and type:

Jonas Bain Strain,

Big Green (Turkish Cayenne I believe)

White Fatali

Sure, it's interesting looking. I also like your setup. Are you familiar with the name and SHU(generally speaking).

What are you interested in of mine? How many seeds?

Don't know the exactly English name, what I can find by Google translate is Capsicum Annuum. We call it “朝天椒” in China, and it's very famous in Sichuan Province (Panda home province). The SHU is roughly around 40,000 - 50,000.

I'm not familiar with hop pepper at all. Can you help me to choice one? Prefer something mild and larger size. Also suitable for North gardening. I'm in Ontario Canada. The summer is short and dry than south.

Please PM with you e-mail, we can arrange the swap from there.

At the end of the season we will have more varieties. This year we grew 100 or so varieties of peppers. Let me know, we are in BC.

    Ok, so hello everyone,

Hope everyones harvest is going well and seeds are dehydrating adequately! I have seeds from this season ready to trade in about 2 weeks(post air drying seeds) I'm posting some photos of my pods, beginning the season i started with 20 plants and 6 species and due to Thrips i lost 6 plants and 1 species. so i will be updating my list of available seeds. Sorry for any issues just want viable pods and disease/pest free plants. Check out my Peach Bhut Jolokia, SHU are at the max on every pod! not one dud in the whole lot thus far!!!!!

    and Aleppo seeds!!!

Wow James! Your peppers look great! Can't wait to trade with you! :)

How does one know if as you say " the SHU are at the max on every pod." How do you measure this ?

SHU measurement is a subjective scale of measurement, a panel of 5 people subjectively rate hot peppers in comparison to others, alternatively, another method is of measurement would be to see how many tsp of sugar it takes to rid the pepper of heat all together. Since I'm not going to eat 1 million spoon full of sugar its safe to go with a subjective scale..... also I'm confident in my growing conditions(in door green house/30-34 degrees celsius) and my care(general maintenance/PH testing soil, pruning and fertilizer) that goes into growing; nonetheless, i've eating locally grown super hots that were grown outdoors in quebec and nothing comes close to any of my super hots grown in my greenhouse. So again its safe to say from my experience with EATING peppers that the SHU are at the highest level without there being error in what i say.
