Looks like the base was removed &/or installed after the floor finishing... but the finisher SHOULD have taken the time to "mask" the jambs and be careful not to saturate the woodwork left in place. Even if it meant keeping a thinner rag handy to clean up the mishaps as they occur. A little bit of a mess can (& does) happen even to the best of us... but "blowing smoke" at the customer isn't the best approach to remedying the situation. IMHO

Yes, but the bottom of the casing would have to have been masked too. If not, the stain would have still been wicked up through the grain.

Any suggestions on how I proceed with the installer? He is coming over in two days with the owner. I also have stain randomly on doors... Sigh...

As Al F. suggests... there isn't ANYTHING that can be done now, that would have been as simple as a bit of masking tape, some attention to detail... and just a smidge of professionalism.

My guess is that removing the door jambs, and anything else that was affected... and RE-finishing them would be the most viable approach... unless you like paint.

Hire an artist to paint out the mistake.

The owner of the wood flooring finisher must make this right. No ifs ands or buts! Learn from this mistake & don't make it again. You should have been observing or hired someone who knew better.

This professional came recommended by two friends. He will not be recommended by me.

I love the color! There are a number of circle's from the buffer still showing in spots. I'm really not sure what to expect with that.

Yes indeed, that's a nice color. I noticed the "screen marks" in the photo, but was hesitant to stir the pot on that issue. I've seen much worse, however that situation, as well, could have been avoided. Unfortunately, the remedy to that is taking the finish down to bare wood and starting over... I guess it's a matter of your tolerance level as well as how prevalent & widespread they are.

I'm a firm believer after training many many hardwood techs that the novices should stick to refinishing natural for like 10 yrs! Not kidding. Not masking off is a novice move. An well heeled pro would mask off everything and buff the stain on. That way there's minimal contact with "other" objects other than the floors.
