Adam, it doesn't appear to be variegated. There is something happening with the leaves, but it could be several things. First, it could have been sprayed with an insecticide to cause the patterning on the leaves. It could be damaged due to a virus. Or it could just be that this plant produces this type of pattern all of the time. I would watch for misshapen leaves which can sometimes signal a pest or an illness. Watch it closely.

The cuts look great. The remaining branch, prune it only if you desire the form to not include it. I see that there are buds, so you can wait till they have run their course and then remove it. If it were mine I would cut the remaining branch in half and remove the rest of the leaves for maximum ramnification.

Adam, I think it could possibly be a viral issue within this plant. Do not believe it is variegation. Many virus's can live within the tissues and can come through in the blooms. Many of these virus's will not necessarily kill the plant. This would not be a plant for instance that you would want to use as a pod or pollen parent.

some might treat with a systemic fungicide to try and rid it from plant, but this is not a guarantee of irradicasion. I cannot get systemic herbicides here or pesticides and I am fine with this. They are a source of concern to me with the potential to cause damage to beneficial insect and such.

I would just watch this plant and enjoy it. If at sometime it should worsen, then you would have to do something. Many plants live and flourish with this within them.
