I wouldn't put any moss myself, but what I would have done is set the tree facing the opposite way - over the pool, as it looks now to almost be 'escaping' rather than being integrated, facing (if not hanging over) the water (which would make sense for even a juniper to do), if you know what I mean :), tho' you seem to have done a good job of attachment.

I have actually reshaped the wire to make the juniper grow over the water, just haven't taken in pictures yet lol. I wanted a good outside curve to be visible on the left hand side. There was a nice deep hole to plant it in and give it room for the roots to get bigger. Now the wait begins lol. I am still trying to figure out what to use as a basin for the rock to sit on and collect water but can't find anything I am thrilled about. Thanks for the tips!

You can get large trays from a prof. kitchen supplies site - industrial type, or get a metal fabricator to custom make something... or troll flea mkts :)

I think you're almost entirely missing the rock's potential. I would orient it vertically, so it's standing on the depression the J p is planted in, and plan an arrangement so it's supporting 3 or 4 plants, and put it in a very shallow pot like a suiban or fix it to a slab.
