Thank's! It could be Tosca and/or Papilio. The other 2 pods are not doing well, I only tried Papilio on them, I should have tried more options.

Yes, Komoriya darkens the colors on most all of their photos!! What I do before I decide to buy one is to take their picture off Ebay and then in my photo gallery I have the option to change the exposure so when I lighten it up as far as I can, I usually end up with a more accurate view of the true color or lack of color.

I'm sorry this one is so pale...perhaps it will darken up a bit when it blooms again.

She's still very pretty and she has a delicate baby pink color and the shape almost looks like a pink Easter Lily. I have a good feeling she'll darken up a bit next year. I have quite a few clivia that did the same thing in their first year of flowering and the following season they looked like a totally different flower.

Yes, a few of their offerings are a bit disappointing especially the first time to bloom but for the most part those Komoria bulbs that I bought and have been lucky enough to get to bloom have been gorgeous!! I certainly wouldn't give up, just choose something with more saturation of color. I'm sure, like Fred says, that next year she will be more colorful...!!

Elena, that happened to my Yume Mitai, the flowers from the 1st scape were very pale, They were much prettier in the 2nd, look in this thread. : )

new listings on eBay from Komoriya, among those 3 cultivars for $80 is very close to insane ;-)

Now you see the difference in the color photo of the Komoriya
as used Photoshop on one and the same flower.

I have to agree with you, I would have to be on some serious medication to spend $80.00 on a bulb and risk it dying. If I did I would have to rent a mule to kick me in the head if that happened :-))))

Yume Mitai is still quite beautiful even if it isn't photo shopped. I wish people would just send a picture of what it looks like instead of using "deceptive" sales tactics.

Here is my Bipaprio/Bipapilio that the Bulb Fairy sent to me just last week! "Thank you Bulb Fairy!! I think mine looks a bit different than some of the others I've seen, but I couldn't find the thread so I'll just put it here. It's very green, I hadn't expected that and the second flower is a bit more curvy than the first one. It's very pretty. I wonder whose pollen she's like....

Depending on what your flowers look like, you might want to put papilio back on one flower...just a thought...

And yes, I was quite surprised and pleased with Bipaprio's flowers.. I had purposely not ordered one from seeing Komoriya's stock photo and I'm so glad the Bulb Fairy decided I needed to have one!!!

OK here she is!! Santos X papilio. I think she looks a lot more like mama then dad. But definitely beautiful. Donna I think you are right I should try to cross it back to papilio.

Wow!! This surprises me!! She does look just like Mama!! I think I remember seeing one of Ray's photos and his had more of papilio's shape. I wonder if these are all different or all offsets from the same bulb? As I say, mine hasn't bloomed yet but I would definitely put papilio back on her...Thanks for posting these pictures, I was really curious...☺☺

Here is my bulb and as you can see, it's going to be a while before I get flowers

Here was a picture of Ray's this year. I hope he doesn't mind my posting this, it's probably somewhere in another thread anyway.

As you can see it's got a different shape than yours but who knows!!

My Bipaprio was just an offset of his and mine had a totally different shape than all the rest that I've seen so who knows....

Now, if you could get something very cybister like Lima or Chico or even Tango or La Paz that might work too. You've got two flowers so experiment. I know others have had luck with Lima as a pollinator but I can't say that I have but it works for others...

Personally, I wouldn't do a self...it already looks like Santos.

Donna I didn't respond to your comment because I didn't wanna jinx my crosses but both pods look like they are turning yellow already and they are still very small so no seeds from my Santos X papilio. I tried to cross back to papilio and exotic star.

well... Quito is blossoming nicely, might be interesting. Those flowers on Sugata have 'bout 15cm! Didn't expect them to be that large

I'd love to mix it with some double flowered. Unfortunately all those currently flowering are without polen
