Any thing is possible with the right design and execution..you just need to decide if the result warrants the effort and expense

I never like the look or function of a long exterior set of stairs first they are dangerous if you live where it rains or snows and they look ugly IMO

Yes, of course it can be done. You will want to hire a good local architect who specializes in residential remodels and whose portfolio you like.

Sure, it can be done. But, my first thought that it's a bad idea. I'd consider re-doing the interior instead. It's unappealing to have two story steps to your front door.

I would leave it as it is. The cost of moving it wouldn't be recovered if you were to ever want to sale.

Here are some examples. One is a split level remodel with a new front porch. This one is not our project. The other two are projects by Lampert Dias Architects....not split levels, but projects where the entry is on the second floor.....It can work well if designed well...

A brilliantly creative architect and plenty of $$$$$$ will make this a breeze. But most people would not perceive value commensurate with the expenditure that is needed.

The value of making such a change really depends on your neighborhood and what the homes sell for. The question that you have to ask is whether or not it will increase the value of the house by enough to make a difference. You have to be careful not to spend more on your house then the neighborhood can handle if you decide to sell sooner rather than later..........
