Only bought mine last year. It's a shade over 3x3' and bloomed fine after a "zone 5 winter", and should, provided deer don't eat the buds. The blooms are also quite large for the dwarf nature of the plant.

Welcome. I should also add that the blooms stay white for only a very short time (like a couple weeks) before beginning to turn, hence the name of the plant. :) Begins blooming in May and June as do about all oakleafs.

Mine is about the same size as the one in the picture but it did not bloom this year. Since some nearby mopheads also did not bloom, I assume winter had something to do with those three not blooming. But I also assume that it is not hardy as other oakleafs which bloomed for me, or as hardy as a Mme. Emille Mouilliere planted nearby that bloomed very well. RS is under the canopy of a tree and has very good Fall foliage..

Pretty happy with it. One of my two lost half of one side after it leafed out and bloomed. Not as pink as the pictures on line though.

This is my third year for Ruby Slippers. I had been growing it in a container but recently (late spring) planted it in the ground. It is a prolific bloomer for a "dwarf" oakleaf. Mine is in full-day sun until early evening and although it's been in bloom for several months, there is no sign of any pink or ruby coloring to the flowers yet. But it does get sensational fall color, perhaps the best of any oakleaf I've grown.
