Thanks Littlebit. To me only the SDB were 'exciting-looking'. And they won't grow here. Winters too warm :-(

I love the SDBs.. They add such color to the early spring. I wish I could grow Pacific Coast Iris..but they dont like my weather either..

Irisgal, I'm also in Zone 9b and have several SDB's that bloom like crazy every year.

'Little Episode'

Sherry, the only one that stayed here was a Blyth called, umm, Chanted. The others just dwindled away. Would you mind posting the names of yours that have done well. We rarely have a freeze longer than 2 hrs. so sub tropicals and cymbidiums do well here.

Most years we get into the mid 20's for a night or two. Being in a canyon, the cold sits longer. No cymbidiums for me :(
'Ditto'
and 'Little Episode' have been very reliable. 'Sarah Taylor' did better
for me when I was in Los Altos, but I moved some of it to a spot w/
better water and soil, and I got better bloom this year.. Cat's Eye
really needs to be divided, but keeps on blooming. More recent additions
include 'Double Your Fun', 'Pulsator', 'Private First Class', and
'Chicklet' which have bloomed .. DYF & PFC have both rebloomed.
Next Spring should give me a better idea of the ones that have only been
in the ground a year or two (assuming we have a somewhat normal
winter).

Thanks Sherry. I guess we are a fair amount warmer in the winter. I fell in love with Pippi Longstockings years ago .Pale yellow with great plum fall spots. If you ever want that combo. Private First Class and Sarah Taylor I would love to see some day.
