Gel substance on my moss...Help

I received a bonsai in the mail. I am assuming the conditions during shipping caused a fungus of some sort to grow. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
So I started removal of this substance...dark greenish in color. And wonder if it needs some sort of treatment as well to rid me of this problem.
