So please let us know how the nest matures. You may have a new variety of white potato onions on your hands. (or you may not, most mutants and most developmental accidents flop, but not all of them. Those that don't and are saved are often the beginnings of new varieties.)

I just looked at it today, and it hasn't advanced ie. the leaves haven't grown, the plant is splitting into a multiplier onion look so you may well be right. I may leave it in the ground over winter and see if it goes to seed. Keep you posted. cg.

Thanks, I just saw that. Reminds me of a very large top set or an one of those old book engravings of potato onions. What if you plant them back and you get mulitpliers? Exciting.
