My favorite flower color is probably yellow, because it is so cheerful. Not an orange-tinted golden yellow, but a solid lemon yellow.

I do not know why, but when it comes to roses, the red ones are the mainstays. A rose would just not be a rose if it were not for the red ones. Mr. Lincoln has a true red, whereas others such as Chrysler imperial can have a slightly magenta undertones (this does not seem to show up well in pictures for some reason).

When you tell someone you are going to give them a rose, they will typically expect a red one, at least subconsciously, and will be a little surprised if the rose you give them turns out not to be red. Red is the classic color for roses, a strong bright color, and beautiful. I do not know how else I can describe it.

My favorite rose, however, I think is Sterling Silver. It has the most beautiful light purple greyish tone. The hue is a much more blue-tinted purple, more so than any other purple rose variety I have seen, despite the light shade of color. Sterling Silver really is a fitting name. (I also think the fragrance smells better than the other purple roses, but that is a different story)

I do not like the burgundy or mauve purple colored ones at all though.

I think I would like Sterling Silver more if it were a more solid color shade, but I have not found any other roses that have a purple hue quite as blue-tinted as these.

The strange thing is I typically do not even like red or bluish-purple colored flowers, but when it comes to roses, these two colors really suit the big beautiful complex shaped flowers. I guess it just depends on the specific situation.

I hate the color pink too, but find the pink flowers on a cherry blossom tree very beautiful and could not imagine them being any other color. I have seen white colored cherry blossoms, and it's not that I do not like the color white, but on a cherry blossom tree they would just seem too plain.
