AFTER: Custom made wood and metal railing.

Carpet got removed, stairs cut straight, natural pine wood was discovered, sanded and stained.

We added metallic horizontal bars to insure safety, without compromising the staircase design.

LED lights were installed on the side of the stairs, to add character and ...light

BEFORE: Curved staircase,open threads, not code compliant, low railing and balustrade

HI -- Kind of sad really , the old was from a special time and looked so elegant . The new is nice but not the same charm or elegance . I don't care for the iron rods and I think glass would have been more modern and better looking .

even more impressive is all the wall paper removed. and the refinishing of the tread.

It's beautifully made. I do believe that the white is not a good color for the walls though, now that you've decided to add led lights. Maybe you could adjust the lighting so the pathway would look vibrant?
