I labored over the weekend and cursed/struggled/fought with compression plugs to install everything. Before this, I used to use watering container to water my plants. I am using 1GPH pressure compensating emitters from Raindrip.

Problem I am facing is for some of the pots, water starts draining out of pots within two minutes of starting the water. Soil looks dry otherwise, but water keeps draining out of the pot. When I was hand watering, water (almost) never drained from the pot and soil remained moist.

Is this soil problem or a result of using larger emitter? Most of the pots are 1 gallon or larger and water does drain through almost all of them very quickly. Potting soil is from local home depot
