Interior door question


We met with our interior builder yesterday to choose trim, baseboards, interior doors, etc for our new modern farmhouse construction. We plan to have white interior doors and trim. My wife and I had been set on solid wood doors and figured we would paint them. The builder was pretty strongly opinionated that we should go with masonite doors if plan on white and should do solid wood if we were willing to stain them. He argued that it's almost impossible to keep the paint from cracking on solid wood sing the different parts expand and contract. Is that true? And are all Masonite doors the same "solidness."?

He is right,mine cracked every winter when the heat was on and I had 9of them.
