Snowdrops... Dry shade without irrigation over summer?

I've got a coniferous forested area here in zone 5-6.

My thought was to go through and clean up all the pine needles and cedar bits, galleon branches etc and plant hundreds of snow drops. Why not right?

But the ground is moist spring and fall only. Summer could grow cacti, if there was any light. It's pretty dark. Quite acidic.

Any thoughts whether it's worth the labor to try naturalize in this type of area? Thanks!
