I think hanging curtains just below the top square windows would be best. Frankly, there isn't much space beside the window though. Exterior blinds may be best. But, first, can we see more photos of the space? I'd remove the vase(s) with sticks and put the lounge in the corner. Scoot the couch out a bit and float far right of the lounge and face the FP. This could be all wrong though. Is there a tv in the space and what is next to the window? More photos please for best suggestions.

I would hang curtains just above windows and leave the square ones to have some space to stand on their own. I would get color close to wall paint. Have one rod over both windows and panels on the right and the left and draw to middle or panels on left and right and 2 in the middle. and draw together over windows. I , too, would like to see more photos of the room, please.
