'Hazel Smith' is a blue form which is grown from cuttings. Linked here is a previous thread about this clone that includes it's limitations in eastern US due to disease.

Giant Sequoia Thread

Sam - I live in Denmark and will not be able to do the cuttings.

And we do not have any problems with diseases of any kind - only problem is our cold winters wich means that the seedling cant go outside, until they are about 4-6 years old.

But this is where Hazel Smith comes in as a hardier cultivar - only need the seeds....

most culitvars.. do not come true from seed ... but i dont know about this one ..

you need to contact edwin smits in the netherlands ...

if he doesnt have it... or know where it is available .... oh well

ken

I will try Edwin - thanks Ken!

do let us know what he says or can do ... ken

Has there ever been a specimen or cultivar of Sequoiadendron that has exhibited a level of resistance to Cercospora or that other disease?
