Looks like a hardcane dendrobium. They put out spikes at the nodes at the top of the canes. Some, if not most, retain their leaves instead of dropping them like nobiles do. Winter rest depends on the specific species and type.

I think (now that I have looked up hard cane dendrobiums) this is a Dendrobium Lloyd Stainton.

There are many hybrids that it's virtually impossible to get a name. You might as well call it a Dendrobium phalaenopsis hybrid NOID. But you can use that name as a temporary name but don't show it at shows or judging.

Looks a bit like is not close enough. There are more than 9700 registered Dendrobium names on the register of hybrids kept at Kew and within each crossing there is a variation as each seed from a seed pod will be different.

Might be different in the USA but the Judges here just look at the flowers. The only problem here is that you cannot get an AOC award and you should not use it for breeding.

Oh my orchids are just for me. I do not put them into shows haha. I am still an amateur at this, but maybe in the future I will put some in a contest.
