Area rug advice please!

We just took out carpet from the living room and linoleum from the attached kitchen, entry, and hallway, and replaced it with vinyl plank. It needs some sort of area rug in the living room and I don't have a clue what style, color, or even if it should be 2 small ones in front of the sofa and love seat. We plan to replace the furniture, but not right now. The house is small (1036 sf) and the size of the room is 14.5 ft wide x 16.5 ft long. The furniture is way too big for the space, I know. The look is leaning toward farmy/industrial/repurposed wood, super casual. So any advice is much appreciated!! Thanks!

Measure for a 9 x 12 and 8 x 10 and see which seems to scale best in the room. Laying it out with newspaper in those sizes will help you visualize it.

check out the rug in the inspiration pic and notice how it picks up the colours from the print chairs in this charming space. This could give you a starting off point for the rest of your room design/decor.

pick up some orange and blue in the rug, and pillows. Love with Anne did for you.

Persian Carpet, great idea about the newspaper mock up. I'm really visual and it will help I'm sure! Anne Dee, love the look your pic has. Love those orangey tones! The walls are SW Sea Salt, so I don't know how that would work. What about the coral color in the chair in my photo? I can always recover the chair too :)
