I think it might be too much wood. How about something like natural stone or an off white-creamy tile for some contrast? In our house we have a large family room that has tongue & groove pine similar in color to your cedar. There used to be a spa in it and half the floor is a natural small aggregate that is sealed with a high gloss. It looks great with the wood and is easy underfoot......we no longer have the spa (it was old and started to leak).
