I bought a Amethyst Falls Wisteria from Wayside gardens and planted it this sprint. It is planted next to the water fall of my pond. I'm in Austin, TX. The soil is really more pond foundation and is very sandy.

Here is a picture of it taken mid-June. It seemed happy and growing up very quickly:

In May / June, we got tons and tons of rain.

Now it is not happy.

I gave it a good watering a week or so ago and it did not brighten up so I was assuming it was too little water. I got up today to pile up some compost filled with worms around it topped with much but when I started digging, the ground is moist. So now I'm worried that it has been too much water. The pond may be leaking but I can't find the leak.

The idea of the compost with worms is perhaps the worms would mix the sand with the more substantial compost and dirt making the soil more solid over all.

I'm tempted to transplant it before it dies completely. Any advice?
