In 1848, company founder Joseph Richardson began clearing land at his
new homestead in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin with the intention of
farming. He had an opportunity to acquire the saw milling machinery
enabling him to process and sell the logs he was clearing, and soon
decided he preferred the lumber business to agriculture.

Several years later, in addition to selling raw lumber, he began making
wood products and selling those, too. These products became more and
more sophisticated until by the late 1800’s he and his sons were making
and selling fine furniture. Now, more than 150 years later, Richardson
Brothers Company is part of a diverse yet focused corporation called
Richardson Industries.

Along with the Richardson Brothers brand of solid wood dining and
bedroom furniture, the corporation also makes roof and floor trusses
under the Richco name, does wood treating from Richardson Wood
Preserving, maintains three commercial lumber yards in Sheboygan county,
selling building materials and kitchen cabinets, along with home design
services. And finally, they run a full line retail furniture store in
Sheboygan Falls.
The common thread throughout all of these varied ventures is this: each
has something to do with the home; designing it, building it, and
ultimately furnishing it. This is the symbiotic relationships between
company divisions that enables each one to excel, since they understand
the larger relationship their products ultimately play in improving the
quality of life for their customers.
Through all this, the company has maintained a reputation for solid wood
furniture that gives the consumer a great value- a lot of furniture for
a fair price. Over the years they have continued that tradition and
expanded their line to include bedroom and bar stools. They haven’t
tried to be all things to everyone which allows them to keep refining
and perfecting their line so that you get more and more value. The
Country Oak Collection is a beautiful solid oak classic country look
that can even fit in a transitional setting. This is a very versatile
group with enough tables, chairs and hutches to choose from that you can
outfit a tiny kitchen or a huge dining room that will seat twelve. From
dining to bedroom, as well as 75 occasional pieces all their
collections are crafted from a wide variety of the industry's finest
hardwoods, including: cherry, oak, maple, birch, pine, walnut, beech and
South American Pearlwood.

They normally use a date stamp so I'm guessing it was made in January of 1974.
