Boxwood turning brown

last modified: 11 years ago

Hi. I live in Central Florida. I have a row of about nine boxwood hedges in the front of my house. They always get full sun and I keep them trimmed regularly. For ten years I've never seen even a HINT of a problem with any of them. This year one of the hedges has turned brown in spots. I cleaned out the dead leaves (and branches) and it looked like it might be in recovery. The last few days saw the brown patches (dead spots) increasing. The hedge next to it now has a brown patch. All other hedges look great. I occasionally spray all my hedges with natural dish soap. I am not sure what the problem is. Nothing has changed regarding drainage or sun exposure. Any advise appreciated. Thanks.
