Framed bathroom mirror

My husband framed my bathroom mirrors. The cabinets are dark wood. What colors could I paint the frame? Does it have to match the vanity? I already painted it white and I don't like it. Counter tops are off white and walls are light beige with grey shower curtain. Tile is light.

This is the kids bathroom. I have repainted the mirror 3 times and can't seem to get it right. First it was shinny silver, then the same grey as shower curtains and now white... The rest of the house is french country, transitional, farmhouse and a little shabby with dark woods and light accents... Please help with mirror color- is the white too light? If I have to match the mirror to the vanity I am not sure that is possible with all the paint coats. Should I just heavily distress it down to the grey and silver?

I also chalk paint everything- can't afford to buy new stuff. Have two kids to support.
