Did anyone answer you? Because I am in NJ too, and we have a skunk that sleeps under our deck during the day, and has sprayed my dog and two neighbors' dogs at night....

It sounds like the citrus aromas might be the
best way to go and based on some comments after the article it sounds like mothballs
are unsafe and illegal to use.

Somebody I know mentioned her Jack Russell
terriers getting skunk smell. She said that tea tree oil worked very well at
eliminating the smell on the dogs.

It looks like there are some dog shampoos
which contain it so you may want to keep it in mind. I just went to Amazon to
check.

I'm not sure if she tried
the shampoo or the essential oil but I'd guess the shampoo would be easier to
get on the dog
