I have grown the Heavenly Blue variety for the past two years. Those seeds do seem susceptible to frost, so I tend to plant around mid May (2 weeks or so after my last frost date). I didn't get any blooms until late August last year, and they really took off in mid Sept and went strong until our first fall frost. I have yet to see a bloom this year but am expecting the same. Some morning glories (the pink and purple ones I believe) will reseed aggressively and may bloom sooner.

yes.. you could have planted or started the seed much earlier.. eh???

take a seed ... scratch the hard shell on an emery board.. and start them on some paper towel in a baggy .. until they show signs of life ... pot up ... start them early.. so they can go outside ASAP

I also have Heavenly Blue. It seems to be blooming late this year. My friend said her morning glories are also late.

Not morning glory, but I grow moonflower, which is closely related. They almost always bloom this late in the year for me, and I start with good-sized transplants.
