Monster Miscanthus sinensis needs to be moved

A tiny Miscanthus sinensis I planted a few years ago has become huge! It's way too big for where I stupidly planted it, so I'd like to move it without killing it.

  1. When is the best time to dig it up?

  2. It's starting to flower. Should I trim those back now in any case?

  3. Advice for digging it up and moving it successfully?

Thanks!
