You don't say where you are, Kyle. I'm in Lenoir City, but love Stanley's Greenhouse in Knoxville. Fine folks to deal with and great variety. Ellenburg's is another great one, if a bit pricier. More locally, I use Meadow View, just outside of Lenoir City- mostly your basic landscape plants with a few perennial goodies thrown in.They also have a lot of garden decor, including a big selection of bird baths.

Sorry, John, I failed to mention where I was. I am in Knoxville as of now, for school, but, I live in Cocke County. I had seen Stanley's website once and was wondering how it was. And say you really like it?

Kyle, since Pope's Greenhouse in Maryville closed a couple of years ago, Stanley's is about the only place you can get the really unusual or hard to find in the Knoxville area. And I forgot to mention Thress'. I haven't been there in ages because of the distance, but they used to carry a great selection. And if you happen to be in Oak Ridge, Willow Ridge/David Wilson Nursery is fantastic, too. Trust me, if I mention them at all, they're a great nursery, lol.

I've never been to Beaver Creek, but they used to send out a mini-catalog that made me drool, lol. They have a huge display garden that I've heard is quite a big deal. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I checked, and they do have a website. I might have to make the trek out there. They *used* to offer a lot of rare natives in their flyer.

I want to echo fig insanity (love that! and would love to talk figs with you) that Willow Ridge in Oak Ridge, right on the Turnpike ( the main road through town) is an awesome place. The staff are VERY knowledgeable and helpful. So friendly and nice. The prices are not cheap but I have gotten a lot of great plants this time of year on sale. They usually have a $1 sale on selected perennials but I don't know about this year. They have a wide variety of plants and lots of garden related stuff in the store. Check them out.

I've been to Willow Ridge three times, but don't think I have ever actually made a purchase there. Their prices on the stuff that interested me seemed way high. The $1 sale sounds good, but wasn't going on during any of my visits.

Yes, the prices are high. I'm not sure why since there is so much competition from Walmart and Home Depot on common and even unusual plants. I love to look and they do have sales at times. It's all we have in Oak Ridge and I'm glad for the expert planting advice I get from the staff. One other place that is unusual that is outside Oak Ridge but not far at all is Erin's Meadow. Kathy has a herb and plant farm next to her house and it is small but unique. I visit often and greatly enjoy the programs she offers - free sometimes (check out the website) and $30 otherwise. It is a great destination, especially in the spring. Her plants are on sale now but the selection is low since its the end of the season. She also has a lot of herb and plant related gifts, especially late fall in time for Christmas.
