There is a chance that you stressed the plant too much and it's going into early dormancy. I've had that with other Amorphs, they seem to give up and decide to wait until next season. You could pull some of the soil away to see if the tuber is okay. Make sure there's no sign of rot and the soil's not too wet.

I agree with tropicbreezent. Check the tuber too.

Does anyone think that treating it with a fungicide might make a difference?. I'm no expert on these, but isolate it for now, and try it again next spring before tossing it?

You can try fungicide but I'm not sure that's the issue. Don't toss the corm out, let the plant go through it's grow cycle and grow it again next year unless the whole corm is rotting or mushy.

Would defoliation help the plant? It seems the foliage is more of a burden atm and possibly draining the corm unnecessarily?
