Need Powder room ideas

In the process of updating this downstairs powder room which is used the most. We also entertain a lot. I changed out the lighting,painted the walls and hung a glass shelf last year before a big party. I'm now looking to get a pedestal sink, new mirror, toilet and new tile. Perhaps a small cabinet for storage. Lighting has bronze hardware. What color pedestal sink and style/color tile would look good? Any other suggestions and/or decor ideas welcome. I know the faucet doesn't match...was moving towards the bronze when I finished.

Have you thought of glass tile for decorations? Go to gbmglass.com and look over their amazing tile collections. They are very affordable and will make a bold statement for a small area.

Love the navy wall color in Havingfun's post. Would look great with a white pedestal sink and toilet. What tile are you replacing? Floor? Since it's a small room, you should be able to go for something glam. Maybe beautiful veined marble. Navy can almost be used as a neutral, adding accents of yellow, lime green, grass green. See if you can find a mirror that has some same tones as your new light.

These were supposed to be in the original post. Powder room is about 8x5. I would like something that will make it pop.

I've lived with colored porcelain fixtures and learned to hate them. They locked me out of inexpensive future changes like a new paint color.

Pedestal sinks are handsome, but leave no place to set anything down. Because of that, they are terrible in a guest bathroom (think ladies' makeup kits, men's shaving kits). Guys tend not to need to set anything down when they are just ducking in for a minute. Maybe some of the women readers could weigh in on whether or not they would recommend surface space when they freshen up their makeup, etc.

you did note that was little sticks of wood? I really think you could hack that no problem. and the great thing is that then you could choose the color and the shape! and i don't know your budget but I know everyone has pedestals, and i think they have at restore also. Have fun and let us see Erin!

Tfswest...the Kohler pedestals I've used have some surface space around the bowl, enough for an electric razor or makeup bag. I've also added a bench between the sinks for extra surface space in the full guest bath. My guest bath also has a linen closet for storage. I don't expect folks to be shaving in my powder room though...
