Concrete Floor

Hi I love this floor. I was thinking of either doing a polished concrete or epoxy resin floor. Which is more durable & easier to maintain?
Thank You

Is the floor polished concrete or resin? I can't tell? I'd love to know. Thank you.

It is an epoxy, a very hard process to get right. This is most likely Westcoat liquid dazzle in silver. My husband owns Winwin Homes Inc. They installs these floors and they are very labor intensive. I am a DIYer and would NOT suggest doing it yourself. The process involves grinding the existing floor, pouring and spreading the epoxy, letting it level and dry then doing a clear epoxy coat.

Love the look of polished concrete but afraid it will be cold underfoot w/o adding area rugs. Anyone experience this or not?

We did this kind of floor ourselves, it was labor intensive yet very easy to do and the outcome absolutely astonishing. And very inexpensive.

Hi kayajay, but is it cold underfoot?

I don't believe it is epoxy. Concrete is becoming very popular for home interior flooring and I believe it to be concrete. Concrete floors are not near as difficult to do and can be done by most homeowners.

Kayajay, we have just built a lake house on Smith Lake in Alabama and are trying to determine how to finish our basement concrete flooring. I like the finish look of this flooring and noticed your comment of doing the same type finish yourself. We are planning on doing the work ourself. Could you give more detail as to the colors used. I would like something light. I have gotten many ideas from the houzz website. Thank you for your response. Virginia in Alabama

@virginiamonk Did you find out how to do these floors? Did you execute yourselves?

@kayajay How much did the floor cost say for 2000 square feet?
