It all depends on how you cook and clean. Some people use a double bowl sink to soak pots and pans on one side, while keeping the other usable. Some of my customers prefer a single bowl because it can fit a larger assortment of items; like cookie sheets, trays etc. without sticking out on one side. Are you looking for a top mount or under mount sink?

Personally, I use a large single bowl. I feel a double bowl has someone committed to having two small, and not as usable sinks.

There is a sink on the market from Dawn that has a removable divider. When in place the divider is water tight and temperature stable.

If you prefer a single bowl, then get it. There are endless options out there to make a single sink very efficient.
