Yes u can overwinter Duranta by bright sunny window. Never heard of cultivar skylight but duranta is commonly known as skyflower

many of our houseplants are actually tropicals ... that can deal with being indoors ... in low light.. and the further north you go ... reduced humidity of forced air furnaces ...

as with almost all house plants.. the media will be what makes it easy or hard ... and who knows hat a grocery store plant has for media ...

you might want to discuss this in the houseplant forum ... to see if any of those folks have dealt with such

ps: cheap plants.. usually indicate that they are easy to propagate ... and if that is the case.. perhaps you could root some cuttings.. and save those over the winter .... rather than some large plant ...
