Growing From Cutting

My neighbor had a huge, Plumeria that was all lanky and ugly. He cut it down and I took a couple of clippings from end braches, stuck them in a pot and they are growing like gang busters.

Q1: Can I keep growing them in pots until they bigger?

Q2: Is it correct that my neighbors were all lanky because he never trimmed them. Can I get them to bush out by trimming? If so, when should I trim them.

I would leave them in the current container until next spring. Not sure if the tube is drip irrigation or the soil level in the right one.

There could be several reasons for the lanky growth. Not enough sun is the first that comes to my mind followed by the variety may be prone to it. By far, IMO the best way to get branching is to get them to bloom rather than pruning or damaging tips.

yes, they were in the shade I moved them out into the sun.
