I'm not a "Newbie" gardener but I decided to do an all heirloom garden this year. I had read that bush beans were one of the easier crops for first time seed savers so I planted blue lake bush, pinto, great whit northern, and black turtle. (all bush varieties). They all came up vibrant and healthy, good flowering, good pod production. I picked a few pinto pods but they weren't (still white, not speckled and they were soft) ready so I waited another week, then went on vacation for a week. when I came back from vacation ALL of the leaves were off my beans and ALL the pods were starting to dry and had black moldy looking spots on them. I can still harvest some of the beans but I'm curious as to what happened and how to prevent it. ill try to post some pics when i get home. thanks for any and all advice
